The MJ-HL:RAC program at Delaware Law is designed for health care and other professionals who desire to expand their education and broaden their understanding of the legal and regulatory health care environment. It is one of few such law school programs in the country and offers students the distinctive opportunity to expand employment opportunities.
Delaware Law is accredited by the Compliance Certification Board (CCB) and is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). Upon successful completion of the MJ-HL program, students are enabled with the knowledge to sit for the Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) national exam.
The MJ-HL is an online program designed to accommodate the working professional who seeks to improve employment opportunities or simply keep pace with changing regulatory requirements. The program requires 29 credit hours of coursework and can be completed in two academic years.
Delaware Law is one of few law schools in the country accredited by the Compliance Certification Board (CCB). The law school is also a member of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE). Delaware Law has received the SCCE International Compliance Award for Educational Compliance Programs.
Students who complete CCB-accredited compliance coursework from a CCB-accredited school, such as Delaware Law, are exempt from the 1500 hours of work experience in a compliance-related field, which is normally required to be an eligible candidate for a CCB exam.
Courses aim to educate students for careers as compliance officers and risk managers working with management and legal counsel to fulfill the regulatory compliance requirements of health care and pharmaceutical organizations. Students graduate prepared to work in regulatory compliance analysis, risk management, and contract negotiations. During the capstone course, students work through simulations to resolve compliance issues and mock exam questions.
In response to the growing need for trained graduates in health law, Delaware Law offers three program tracks in the health care regulatory compliance arena: 1) regulatory analysis and compliance; 2) legal nurse consulting and compliance; and 3) global compliance and ethics.
A bachelor’s degree is required for admission to this MJ program. Preferably, applicants have recent or current professional employment in health care or a closely related field.
The tuition for the 2016-2017 academic year is $1,098 per credit.* Financial aid is available for qualified students. (*Subject to change.)
