Build the skills and confidence you need for your future by handling real cases for real clients with the support and supervision of full-time faculty who are practicing attorneys. Our six law clinics—focused on supporting civil litigants, domestic abuse survivors, environmental groups, criminal defendants, incarcerated individuals, veterans, and other underrepresented groups—provide hands-on experience before you graduate.
Participate in our clinical, judicial, and health law externship programs that provide opportunities for upper-level students to earn academic credit while working with judges, state and local prosecuting attorneys, public defenders, legal services lawyers, healthcare institutions, and government and nonprofit agencies. Our 150+ externship placements allow you to practice what you learn in the classroom, hone your professional skills, and build your legal network.
Engage in volunteer and public interest work that fits your interests and availability. Our Public Interest Resource Center (PIRC) creates opportunities for meaningful pro bono service experiences through collaboration with charitable, civic, community, religious, educational, and government organizations. Pro bono work allows you to develop your skills, connect with other legal professionals, and make a difference in your community and beyond.
