Kibrom Teweldebirhan is an Assistant Professor of Law at Delaware Law School and a Research Fellow at the East Asian Legal Studies Program of Harvard Law School. Before joining Delaware Law School, Professor Teweldebirhan worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Villanova Law School, Visiting Scholars Coordinator at the East Asian Legal Studies Program of Harvard Law School, and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Asmara and the College of Arts and Social Sciences in Eritrea.

Professor Teweldebirhan’s research and teaching expertise are in the areas of contracts, transnational law, international law, law and development, as well as the historical and contemporary aspects of China’s engagement with the global South and international law. His work has appeared in law and peer—reviewed journals such as the Oregon Review of International Law, the Southwestern Journal of International Law, and the Chinese Journal of International Law (Oxford) among others. He has contributed a book chapter on African law (Routledge) and wrote a case review on a decision of the Supreme Court of the United States on the immunity of international organizations. His research draws on, among others, from archival and ethnographic sources. Professor Teweldebirhan has served as a research affiliate with different institutions around the world, including the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, the St. Augustine University of Tanzania, and the Southern African Institute for Policy and Research (Zambia).

Professor Teweldebirhan holds LLM and SJD degrees from Harvard Law School, LLM from Wuhan University School of Law, and an LLB from the University of Asmara, Eritrea.
