Kibrom Teweldebirhan is an Assistant Professor of Law at Delaware Law School and a Research Fellow at the East Asian Legal Studies Program of Harvard Law School. Before joining Delaware Law School, Professor Teweldebirhan worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Villanova Law School, Visiting Scholars Coordinator at the East Asian Legal Studies Program of Harvard Law School, Lecturer in Law in the College of Arts and Social Sciences (Eritrea), and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Asmara and the College of Arts and Social Sciences (Eritrea). Professor Teweldebirhan holds an LLM and an SJD from Harvard Law School, an LLM from Wuhan University School of Law (China), and an LLB from the University of Asmara, Eritrea.

Professor Teweldebirhan’s research and teaching expertise include contracts, transnational law, international law, law and development, and the historical and contemporary aspects of China’s engagement with the global South and international law. His work has appeared in law and peer—reviewed journals such as the Oregon Review of International Law, the Southwestern Journal of International Law, and the Chinese Journal of International Law (Oxford), among others. He has contributed a book chapter on African law (Routledge) and wrote a case review on a decision of the Supreme Court of the United States on the immunity of international organizations. His research draws, among other sources, on archival and ethnographic materials. Professor Teweldebirhan has served as a research affiliate with different institutions around the world, including the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, the St. Augustine University of Tanzania, and the Southern African Institute for Policy and Research (Zambia).
