Counseling Records
Students and Alumni: For access to your records relating to counseling with Dr. Amy Dwinnell while you were a student at Delaware Law, please contact Dr. Jennifer Horowitz, Director of Widener University's CAPS Center, at jhorowitz@widener.edu.

Students seeking accommodations should email the Associate Dean of Student Academic Affairs, Inclusion and Belonging, Joseph Farris, at jdfarris@widener.edu, and request information about accommodations.

As an alternative, students can complete the accommodations application form using this link: https://mysuccess.widener.edu/s/wellbeing/accessibility (please note that the relevant section is located mid-page: How to Request Accommodations).

As part of your accommodations application, you will be asked to submit medical documentation describing the disability and indicating the type of accommodation requested. This documentation will be required for review by our university’s Office of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) which will decide the outcome of your accommodation request. That office can also be reached directly at disabilities@widener.edu.

After your items are submitted, SAS personnel will then reach out to you to set up a meeting to get a better sense of your needs.  Afterwards, it will take approximately 1-2 weeks for SAS personnel to provide their accommodations decision in a letter.  The total process could take about a month.  However, the decision timeline depends on the timeliness of students submitting documentation and getting scheduled for an initial discussion with a SAS representative.

Unless a student has been granted permission to record a class due to an accommodation, no Delaware Law School classes or portions thereof may be recorded without the express consent of the professor. Class recordings that have been provided by the professor or that a student has been granted permission to make may not be distributed in any manner without the written consent of the professor.

Bias or Hate Crime Reporting Protocol

Delaware Law seeks to create an inclusive, equitable, culturally competent, and supportive environment where students, faculty and staff model behavior that enriches our community. Sweeney Student Emergency Fund at Delaware Law School

The Sweeney Student Emergency Fund (SEF) at Delaware Law School provides one-time grants to currently enrolled law students facing urgent financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances. The fund is intended to support students' continued academic progress and well-being by addressing short-term financial emergencies that cannot be reasonably resolved through loans, aid programs, or personal resources. Please download the fund’s policy guidelines (pdf). To find the application for the student emergency fund, students need to log into MyWidener and search for "emergency" and then select "Student Emergency Application" in the "emergency" block.
