The Graduate, International, Compliance, and Legal Studies (GICLS) Department of Widener University Delaware Law School offers entirely online Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) Degree Programs.

Master of jurisprudence (MJ) degrees are designed for non-lawyer professionals seeking an understanding of the law. Our MJ degrees focus on practical skills training in a variety of legal-related fields for those who seek to improve employment opportunities or to simply keep pace with changing regulatory requirements. Course are taught by practicing lawyers and experienced professionals.  

The MJ degree consists of 30 credit hours of coursework and specialized concentrations are offered for focused studies:

ONLINE, FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING

The online MJ program accommodates the working professional with cutting-edge online course technology so students can learn on their own schedule.  The program can be completed part-time in two years. Students may choose to work at their own pace and complete the degree in as many as five years.

Additional Program Options

  • Graduate-level certificates: For interested applicants with some prior legal-related experience, or who are current attorneys, seeking a shorter program that can be completed in as little as two academic semesters (fall and spring), the graduate-level certificate option may be the right fit for you.
  • General master of laws (LLM) degree: For graduates of a U.S. JD program, or an international degree equivalent, we offer the General LLM degree in corporate law and regulatory compliance.
