Join Dean Todd Clark and Phil Martelli, a 1976 Widener University Graduate, for a Fireside Chat on Monday, March, 24th from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM in the Barristers' Club on the Delaware Law School campus.
Phil Martelli is more than a legendary basketball coach; he is a lifelong mentor, community leader, and advocate for positive change. With a career over 34 years, Phil has left an indelible mark on college basketball, first as head coach at Saint Joseph's University and most recently as the associate head coach at the University of Michigan. Known for his leadership, integrity, and unmatched dedication, Phil has achieved milestones such as the 2004 Consensus National Coach of the Year and numerous postseason victories. However, if you ask him, his proudest moments go beyond the wins and accolades-they revolve around the lives he's impacted.
Phil's guiding principle has been simple throughout his career: "Make a Difference." This mantra has shaped his approach to coaching and his deep commitment to education, service, and community. The Making a Difference Campaign is at the heart of Phil's current work. He aims to inspire educators, students, and communities to lead purposefully, build meaningful relationships, and create lasting positive change.
