Graduation Petitions


All graduate candidates must submit an online petition based on their anticipated completion date:
  • May & August graduates: petition between September 1 and October 30
  • December graduates: petition between July 1 and September 30

To access the petition: log onto myWidener and find the “Petition to Graduate.” Enter your name as it should appear on your diploma and select the term in which you will complete your degree. Click submit.

You will then receive a confirmation email which will link to a three-page form. This form must be completed, signed and returned to the Registrar’s Office on your campus no later than October 30 for May/August grads and September 30 for December grads.


The commencement ceremony takes place annually on the lawn in front of Geesey House and Polishook Hall on the Delaware Campus. December graduates walk in the May ceremony following their graduation. All members of the graduating class will receive a Commencement Guide for Graduates after Spring Break.
