The GICLS office within Widener University Delaware Law School is a unique department of educational programs for both domestic and international lawyers and non-lawyers. GICLS is the acronym for Graduate, International, Compliance, and Legal Studies. The name of our department encompasses the many degrees and program options offered below. The GICLS office offers a diverse array of opportunities for professionals pursuing a career in law, whether aiming to practice law, explore a law-adjacent field, or expand their expertise. It provides guidance in finding the ideal degree program to launch or advance careers, build professional development skills, or enrich knowledge. Choose from a variety of legal education degrees, from undergraduate to doctorate, or specialty programs like the summer law programs or legal scholars academy. Some programs are offered online, a convenient option for working professionals or for foreign-trained lawyers who wish to remain outside the U.S. while earning their advanced law degree from Delaware Law School.

Delaware Law welcomes foreign-trained lawyers. In fact, our International programs attract students from around the world. In recent years, we have enrolled students from Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America in addition to students from North America. Diversity brings a tremendous range of knowledge to our programs and has greatly enriched the educational experiences of faculty and students. We offer a variety of degree programs specially designed to meet the needs of foreign students and US citizens who received their legal training abroad.

International Summer Law Programs
