Delaware Law School Commencement - Postponed

Delaware Law School

5/15/2020 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Due to extenuating circumstances caused by COVID-19, the May 2020 commencement ceremony for the Widener University Delaware Law School has been postponed until 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020.

While we recognize and share in the disappointment of this announcement, this decision will safeguard the health and well-being of our graduates, their guests, and the Widener Delaware Law School community.

We will be providing additional announcements soon on the venue for the December 4 Delaware Law School commencement.  We understand that some international students and other students may not be able to attend, and we will provide opportunities to participate “virtually” for those not able to attend in person.

While the Delaware Law School is physically closed at this time pursuant to the directives of state authorities, we continue to function remotely, and to that end will be adopting appropriate protocols to ensure that degrees and transcripts are available to our graduating students as expeditiously as reasonably possible, once final grades are completed, to ensure that graduates may proceed with their bar admission and/or employment processes.  Many bar authorities have already relaxed some of the formalities connected to such documentation, accepting those documents in electronic format generated by law schools.
