Widener Law Alumnus Wins Case Before Pennsylvania Supreme Court

Andrew P. Stafford ‘17, an associate at Lamb McErlane PC, recently won a Pennsylvania Supreme Court reversal of a Superior Court decision, resulting in the striking of a six-figure mechanics’ lien claim.

On April 29th, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled in favor of homeowners in Terra Firma Builders, LLC v. King, et al., holding that that an unperfected mechanics’ lien may be stricken at any time, even after a trial to obtain judgment on the lien has concluded. Andrew recently wrote about the ruling in a Legal Intelligencer article, Pa Supreme Court Warns Contractors: Perfect Your Mechanics Liens.

Andrew served as Editor-in-Chief of the Widener Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society during his time at Delaware Law School. As an associate at Lamb McErlane PC, he focuses on complex commercial litigation, higher education law, and appellate litigation.
