Delaware Law Students Launch Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway Effort
11/13/2025
The Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, known as PAD, has launched a large-scale Thanksgiving turkey giveaway to help brighten the holiday for those in need across the First State.
“This drive is part of PAD’s broader mission to represent Delaware Law with pride, compassion and service, especially during this holiday season,” said Joseph Minickene, a second-year law student and justice of PAD.
The student organization has already secured more than 300 turkeys – with a goal of distributing 500 – through donations. Fraternity members and volunteers will distribute turkeys during an on-campus giveaway event on Sunday, Nov. 16 in the law school parking lot. Members of the public who need a turkey are invited to register online in advance to receive a voucher that they can bring to the distribution.
“We are hopeful the initiative will have a meaningful impact on families who are struggling to afford a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. As students at Delaware Law, we are part of the First State community, and we enthusiastically want to give back,” Minickene added.
PAD is an international law fraternity dedicated to service to law students, schools, the profession and the community. It strives to be the premier legal professional organization with a diverse membership that cultivates leaders and serves as a voice for the role of legal professionalism in society.
