After law school, Ms. Ballantyne worked as a defense attorney for White and Williams, LLP primarily defending long term care providers. She later worked at ECRI Institute as a Senior Analyst and Consultant in Risk Management. Ms. Ballantyne has experience and education as an independent consultant to provide on-site assessment of and consultation for risk management and culture of safety programs with specific identification of risks inherent in the provision of senior housing and aging services. She provides consultation and education services as identified by analytics of current literature, incidents and claims specific to the members, and questions and issues raised by member organizations. She is experienced in CMS and State Surveys in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing (standalone and CCRC); Quality Assurance; organizational change management; management consulting; on-site aging services risk management assessments and report writing; and education program design and delivery. Ms. Ballantyne was the project manager for evaluating short-term stay quality of care through collaborative activities with member organizations. She conducts research of new and pending legislation to identify trends in healthcare regulation that will affect high-risk program systems. She is a speaker at state and national conferences; a Certified Master TeamSTEPPSTM Trainer; and conducts education sessions on high-risk topics to member organizations. Ms. Ballantyne is an Adjunct Professor at Widener University Delaware Law School.
