DLS alumni are ‘Top Lawyers’

11/10/2016

Delaware Today magazine has recognized 56 law school alumni for being tops in their practice specialties.

The November issue featured a “Top Lawyers 2016” story that identified 200 lawyers across 41 practice areas. Of those, Delaware Law School alumni were included in 32 specialty areas, and 13 were listed as the top attorney in that specialty. Lawyers who made the list were chosen by their professional peers, according to the magazine, which emailed the nearly 5,000 members of the Delaware State Bar Association an invitation to vote in its poll.

“It is always such an honor to be recognized by your peers as a leader in your practice area. I am so proud that there are many Delaware Law School alumni named each year to this distinguished list of attorneys, representative of the top lawyers in Delaware,” said attorney Yvonne Takvorian Saville ‘95, who received the top honor in the Alternative Dispute Resolution specialty, on a list of attorneys that also included three former judges who now practice ADR. “I am grateful for the acknowledgement and happy to be included with this year’s award recipients.”

The list also included Visiting Professor of Law Richard K. Herrmann, who was at the top of the E-discovery/technology law specialty. He teaches courses on legal technology at Delaware Law School, in addition to maintaining a thriving law practice at Morris James LLP in Wilmington.

Six alumni were included in top attorneys lists for more than one specialty. They included Nicholas Krayer ‘06, Max Walton ‘99, Stephen Spence ‘81, Chase T. Brockstedt ‘99, Jonathan B. O’Neill ‘03 and Tara Elizabeth Bustard ‘05.

“I’m enormously proud of our alumni and the mark of distinction they carry for the practice of law in Delaware,” Dean Rodney Smolla said. “It is fantastic to see this group of professionals recognized by their peers, and in such a public way. I congratulate each one of them.”
